Devotional Mood: Psalm 23

Cold thinking versus fuzzy feeling?
Welcome to raw experience…

A Psalm of David.

The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside quiet waters.

He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
for the sake of His name.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and mercy will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

Holger: How do you demystify/apply the metaphors/pointers of the Bible?

To me the LORD is the presence of Being, in the absence of the me-identity, free of suffering.

“He” = Consciousness, Inner Space;
the cause of the phenomena of life;
the formless giving shape to the apparent objects.

His name = I AM — the simple, natural recognition I exist.

Oil = Effortless joy, prior to the arising of the thinking mind.

Does it resonate?

We can believe and hope whatever we wish, but what do we know, first-hand?
‘Making sense’ relates to the realm of the separate-self.
